Does anyone else find the background really distracting?

Hi and its a good image of the warbler but I do find the background detracts/distracts from the image. This is however one of my favorite birds - they are beautiful, fast and difficult to photograph.

Nice sharp image. I love these little guys, I actually had one go inside my lens hood one day. I tried to turn my lens so Mark Hoyle could get a shot of him in there. He took off before Mark could get a shot but we both came away with a great memory.
I guess the BG is a little distracting, in the past few years I have begun thinking about the BG first and the subject second. It improved my photography as much as anything I know.

I too find the background distracting. Looks like if you moved to your left a little it would have placed the bird against a darker patch of background.
Of course you might have been standing on the edge of a precipice, who knows....

I wish the bright spot at his head was not there, as you do I am sure. I still think it is a great shot. These are fast birds so I am happy with any picture I can get which is not blurred with movement.

The BG is relatively clean which is good, but I think the BG is distracting simply because it is just too bright. Had the white area been a dark green or brown the variation of the BG would not have been as distracting. When I first get a new (to me) subject, I just worry about capturing it and don't always think about composition, etc because I'm so excited. Now that you have your "capture" you can focus on the BG next time you go to Beidler. :)
