Sandisk has some nice rebates on CF cards through 10/8.

Great information!!
The type of card that I need is on back order and it reads that if I place the order today they will not charge my card until they ship, my question is this............. the rebate form has to be mail and postmarked prior to Nov 11, 2008. If I place the order today and Adorama dont ship them before then I wonder if they will honor the rebate.
I guess I should contact them first......................

Be very careful with Sandisk rebates...I have had trouble getting my redeemed the last 2 times. Finally a phone call to the rebate number after several e-mails telling me the purchases was invalid resolved the issue.
For me personally, I wish the discount was at time of purchase. Easy and clean! This is a major reason why I will purchase things from Office Depot. So many of their sale items are a "Office Depot Rebate" that you need to do extra work for. I will buy the identical item from another vendor at the sale price without rebate paperwork.
Special note about ADOROMA (why I do not shop them): During this time of year most NYC Camera stores that are owned by Jewish people take many holidays related to their faith-I have no issue with this. ADOROMA has a not always posted their order times relative to this holiday schedule- you may place orders via web even though they are closed. You may order today and show the item in stock but shipment may de delayed by a week or more. No contact via e-mail to tell you this. Check B&H site and you see their holiday schedule as soon as you see their main page- very open.
Good luck!

Adorama is out of stock, 17th Street Photo still has them in stock. I ordered 3 8GB cards, lets see what happens with the rebate.

I have to agree with Chris on the rebate issue. Its a pain in the rear end to get these rebates and the manufacturers have started issuing rebates for other gear which you can purchase from them. All i want is a simple instant rebate right at the checkout counter without having to take the time to fill out paper work and keep wondering if it reached them or got lost in the mail.
It used to be good a few years back, but I guess manufacturers are getting "innovative" these days to lure customers by offering rebates and making them come back to use those rebates. I love Ken Rockwell's approach in this scenario. Check out his website. That guy cracks me up :D
Cheers!

I have also had problems with rebates in the past, but not in this case. I received a prepaid Visa card today covering the full amount of the rebate.
