Male Ruby-Throated and yellow Day Lily

I got tired of teasing these birds with test tube feeders into a workable pose so I put out this Day Lily and watched the hummingbird wars! I was about 2 feet away from the flower. You can tell that it is a juveile male by the red spots on its neck.

Mark, another very nice hummer with a beautiful flower. Interesting that even with a very high shutter speed there is still blur in the wings. One of the more amazing birds around. Great job.

Nice shot Mark. The yellow flower is a nice element. I like the blurred wings in this shot...reminds the viewer the birds aren't pinned on a stick! :)
