Folks who surf, typically run into other surfers on a pretty regular basis. Just as wildlife photographers typically run into each other on a somewhat regular basis. On the OBX though, that doesnt seem to be the case. I bump into one other photographer here on a regular basis. Where is everyone? Anyone going to Pea Island tomorow morning (Sunday 8/31)?

I photograph at Pea Island mostly in late fall, winter and spring and do a lot of traveling in the summer. I think I have been down there twice this summer. In late October I will start spending a lot of time down there.

Great! Look forward to meeting some other folks around here. For me, its the exact opposite really. Durring the summer months, I work my butt off guiding kayak tours and wild horse safaris up on the North Beach. Fall, winter, and spring is my "summer" lol - like many folks on the beach I guess. You must be a teacher.

Jared,
I am at Pea Island just about every other week and am up in the northern beaches 5 days a week.

Several weeks ago you said that you were going to contact me regarding Monkey Island, etc. Feel free to contact me at anytime.

A new outing will be announced in the next couple of days.

Since I'm new here, it seems I've missed out on a lot of opportunities. I would love to learn of any new areas where I could go along in tandem with someone already headed there. It would be a chance to become familiar with a new spot and learn how to access it, particularly for birds. I'll try to keep a watch on this thread, and announce when I'm going to be on the "banks" in case anyone else is out and about at the same time.

Fred,

The mid-year outing in January is to the Outer Banks. I think we're about full so if you're interested you should act soon before the list is closed. Here is a link with some information: http://cnpa.org/midyearout.html
