Okay, I know that Blue Jays are a dime a dozen, but I sort of liked this pose. They are colorful birds.
Canon EOS 30D, Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 at 300mm, 1/1250 sec., f/10, ISO 400.

Don, a very nice blue jay. You did very well on exposure, if I had one suggestion for improvement it would be the distracting limb at the bottom. It could be selectively toned down some.

You are quite right, Robert, in that the object at the bottom is distracting. Actually it is not a limb but part of the hanger that holds a suet feeder. In my haste to resize the picture to upload, I completely missed this. :o
I should have cropped a bit tighter at the bottom and cloned out the distraction.

Agree re the distraction on the bottom but important to note that this is not an easy bird to photograph - at least for me. They don't sit still long at all - this a VERY nice pose with a a tack sharp eye, catchlight ie the works.
Nice shot. I have lots of them in the yard but they never stand still long enough to capture them.
