I wanted to share this photo of a Kemp's Ridley hatchling that was released tonight on Litchfield Beach. This is only the second time a Kemp's turtle has nested in South Carolina. The last time was 19 years ago. The SCUTE people think that the turtle that nested could have been a hatchling from the nest that was laid 19 years ago. The hatchlings return to the place they were born to nest, just incase you did not know that. Not a very good image but I have not sorted through them yet.
