Taken on the Midlands trip to Sav NWR last Sat. Croped abt 60% to get rid of clutter. Fuji 5100 @ 10x. Enjoyed meeting the members on the trip--Y'all post some pictures--Lisel, I'd like to see how your grasshopper shots came out.

Hey Bob, nice shot. You've got a nice clean BG and the dragon is very sharp. Did you check out the post in the Midland's Forum of Lisel and her friend?:) :)

Great capture. Incredibly sharp!! What lens, shutter speed, and other settings did you use to get such perfect depth of field and detail??

Hi Don--Thanks for the kind words. Used a P&S Fuji S5100 ISO 100, f4, 1/125, @10x (35mm eq of 385). Not a bad little camera but consistency can be a prob. Tried several other close-ups but auto focus missed on most. Can't seem to make the manual focus work. Bottom line is I'm going to have to come off a nickel or two and upgrade to an SLR to improve my shooting per centages. (There's also a way outside chance that I don't really know how to use what I've got :) )
