I found this frog in a pond at the Chapel Hill botanical gardens. I like the colors and glossy texture. Taken with Nikon D-80 and tamron 180mm macro lens. Exposure was f/5, ISO 640, and 1/100 of a second.

Another great shot, you do a great job making sure the subject is sharp. This is interesting as the head is the only part of the frog that is visible. Neat!:) :)

Eye is drawn to frog and interesting shape of water around him/her?. Then as one looks about the rest of pict there's lots of other interesting shapes and colors. Great blend of main subject and other pond elements that fit together well.

Very nice shot. But one question. Every time a approach a pond anything on the surface submerges. How did you sneak up on this creature?

Nice job on framing the subjecy, my eye instantly goes to the frog. You did a good job avoiding glare on the frog. :)

In response to the question, the frogs where used to humans. They were sitting on the edge, and they let me get close. When they finally jumped, they stuck their eyes out to see what was going on. I laid my camera on a rock and laid down to get eye to eye with it. The overcast sky was coming in at just the right angle to give me the reflections. This was taken at the Chapel Hill botanical garden. I've photographed frogs, snakes, skinks, flowers, turtles, fish, chipmunks, squirrels, rats, mice, insects, and more there. If you ever go there, keep your eyes open.
