i didn't want to wait any longer for a report to my other post about the black berries, and just getting a new 5D on weds. i headed out to the cove for a couple days of camping.
the beries are out in good number, ripening in areas the get the most sunlight and water. some of the feilds that were cut in the past are actuly loaded with them but they are just slightly below the milk weed plants so they are not visable from the road.
most of the does i saw have droped thier fawns. as they are very young they do not acompany thier mothers into the fields much, but in the early morning they are visable with thier mothers in the just inside the woodline before mom beds them down.
i spoted several hen turkeys with poults, so i think they have started hatching too. most of the turkeys i saw were toms and jakes so i'm thinking many hens are still on the nest.
the bears are out taking advantage of the blackberries along the feild edges also so i mangaged to see 4 or 5 a day (i left camp before daybreak and came back after dark)
