This buck was photographed in July in Cades Cove. His right ear looks to be doubled. From that, does anyone know his name? (The rangers and regular visitors often name them)
He was hanging out with other big bucks. They were all in velvet.
(Does the empty space above bother anyone?)

Hey Chuck...
Yes actually, the empty space at the top does bother me a bit and it feels tight at the left edge as well. Did you happen to take any horizontal versions of this?
I like the concept here as opposed to the endless, boring, straight-on whitetail deer images that are floating around.

Hi Richard,
Thanks for the comments.
Unfortunately, I do not have a horizontal of this. I do have another verticle with a little more room on the left.

Other shots show clutter more prominent in the background and the buck's expression is not as good. The moment had passed.

Chuck,
The extra space is not needed but having it there doesn't bother me much. I do like the square crop of the second image better. Thanks for posting.

Guess I prefer it with some of the top cropped off but really want to echo that I like different images/views like this one. The ear is certainly unusal.
