Little Tybee Island, Ga

This is a good area for barrier island landscapes, marsh/beach plant and animal life, island maritime forest, and many shore bird opportunities. About the only place I know, where a short paddle/boat run gets you onto a “wild” barrier island. Personally prefer late fall, winter, and early spring for this area. Fewer to no bugs/mosquitoes, and cool. (note: if you stay out of the woods in Summer, generally don’t have mosquito probs but carry lots of water and sun screen)

For location data thought I’d try giving you the URL below. I suspect most of you are familiar with this site, but if not, you may find it useful for planning trips in the future. Can zoom in/out, route plan, view aerials, etc.(Not to mention, it saves me from typing tons of “how to get there” stuff)

We went to Savannah for a long weekend last winter. We found some neat shots on the way to Tybee Island, but didn't realize such a cool place "Little Tybee Island" was so close to us. Using your directions, I will definitely plan another trip for this winter.
