I photographed this beetle at Prairie Ridge in Raleigh. I like the colors and simple composition. I shot it using a Nikon D-80 with Tamron 180mm Macro lens mounted on a Manfrotto tripod. Exposure is unrecorded.

I like where you placed the beetle in the frame. Color and background are fine. Like the ways it's looking into the frame.

This is a very nice image, as Casey said the placement of the beetle works very well. I like the blending greens in the BG. and you have good detail in the face. Thanks for posting, you get the award for posting the quickest after joining CNPA.

I too like this shot alot. Its nice to see increasing numbers of insects on the site. Its been fun to get back into some macro shooting.
