This image was the last of a series I captured while observing a rat snake ingest a baby rabbit at our foothills farm. The ordeal lasted about 5 minutes and was a real experience in the observation of "raw nature" in action.Camera used was a Canon 20D shutter 1/100 and f 6.3. The snake was under a shrub in the shade so I bumped up the ISO for a faster shutter in order not to miss any action.

Love the shot as its reality and action ie more then a pose. Nice for sure :)

Hi Dianne, great to see you posting and glad I heard from you the other night. Interesting shot, I think you picked the right image to post, some of us have weak stomachs. :o

You nailed the exposure and even at the higher ISO I don't see much grain that older DSLRs were famous for. Great job.
