Yellow Billed Cuckoo

Hand held at 400mm, in a wild cherry tree near a pond at my house in Lexington, SC. These are very elusive birds. I hear them all the time, but rarely can spot one in the dense foliage.

Canon EOS 20D, ISO 1600, 1000 sec., f/8, Sigma APO 80-400 at 400mm.

Hi Don, have never seen this bird around here and there it is in the open with a nice sharp eye and catchlight. Well done

Nice job Don, I've seen them a few times but have never been able to make the image. Thanks for showing us this elusive bird.

This is a very nice shot. I think I saw one of these in my backyard yesterday but didn't know what it was. It was chasing other birds away from the birdbath.
