Charlotte CNPA August Meeting – Lightroom Beyond the Basics with Dave Kelly
August 9 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Lightroom Classic – Beyond the Basics
This presentation probably should be called “Things about Lightroom no one tells you”.
Lightroom Classic is the most versatile post-production software available to the photographer
today. Beginner photographers will find it just as easy to use as experienced photographers.
Topics to be discussed here are how to organize your images so they are easy to find during the
import process. Also, how to reorganize your entire catalog in minutes as well as how to find any
image. In the Develop module we will show how to recover all burned out highlights and lost
detail in the shadows in any image, how to deal with images outside the five or six stop dynamic
range of the camera, how to make selective adjustments to bring out more detail and color in
images and how to use the new Masking panel. Learning Lightroom, knowing its capabilities,
will make you a better photographer, because you will know what you need to do in post-
production when you take the picture in the field.
