This highly hands-on session will feature creative and artful flat-lay photography! Flat lays are styled photography compositions shot from top- down to create beautiful pieces that can be used for wall hangings, gift cards, marketing, fabrics and more! We will teach you compositional techniques, exposure techniques, and incorporate nature, woodsy, vintage, floral, and other themes to bring the outdoors in and transform everyday objects into beautiful works of art!
You can use ANY camera (even your smartphone) to create these beautiful pieces! Bring your camera, a 24-70mm lens (or similar), a tripod and an open mind to the possibilities ahead! If you prefer, you may bring any collection of items you wish— such as tools, vintage items like sewing or knitting-related items, kitchen items, or other vintage-themed objects with a variety of sizes. We will also be providing themed objects for your use and backdrop boards.
As a passionate lover of flowers and gardens, Jamie will share a variety of techniques for photographing flowers that go beyond documentation, including macro & close-up techniques, seeing and creating abstracts, still life stories and how to connect with flowers photographically to convey their colors, curves and personalities (and yours). This workshop will include hands-on shooting of flowers and opportunities to learn new ways of seeing and practice new techniques, You’ll need to bring an open mind, a tripod, camera and lenses (macro, telephoto, Lensbabies (if you have), close-up accessories) and lighting tools.

Working with a light board allows you endless creative concepts with your photography! This class allows you to experiment with high key, low key, ICM and other amazing techniques that give your photography the inspirational nudge you need to re-imagine the possibilities! Using your camera (even your smartphone), we can expand your photographic outcomes and purposes for your work.
Bring your camera, a polarizer or neutral density filter (if you have one), a 24-70mm lens (or similar), a 70-200mm lens (or similar), a tripod and an open mind to the possibilities ahead!
